Our story

The Ten Rainbows Children’s Foundation is a locally founded and operated Canadian registered charity. We are committed to improving the lives of children by assisting them and their families to cope with economic, physical, or medical challenges.

Our aim is to fill the gap where individuals may not qualify for other Federal/Provincial Government assistance or Municipal Programs. We are managed by a volunteer Board of Directors and our administration costs are minimal so that almost 100% of every dollar raised is put to work helping the children of our community.

Ten Rainbows Children’s Foundation originated with a group of friends who shared a common desire to help children in need. Early fundraising efforts included organizing social events for friends and work colleagues, and various other activities such as residential moves and Spring yard clean-up for friends, relatives, and workplace associates, from which the modest proceeds were then donated to various child-focused community agencies such as the Children’s Aid Society. As the frequency and scope of our activities expanded and the monetary proceeds grew, we came to realize the potential to do more and so, in 1993, Ten Rainbows Children’s Foundation was formally incorporated and

registered with the Canadian Government as a bona fide not for profit charity.
Over the years we have developed relationships with many of the local social agencies who have become valuable referral sources for families and children in need.
